Nick Blackwell is a former professional boxer from England. He was born on December 27, 1990, in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. Blackwell competed in the middleweight and super-middleweight divisions during his boxing career. He held the British middleweight title from 2015 to 2016.
Blackwell gained public attention when he suffered a serious head injury during a fight against Chris Eubank Jr. in March 2016. Following the fight, Blackwell was placed in a medically induced coma to reduce swelling in his brain. He ultimately made a full recovery but was advised by medical professionals to retire from boxing due to the risks associated with his injury.
Since retiring from boxing, Blackwell has become a trainer and a pundit within the sport. He has also spoken openly about his experience and the importance of boxer safety.
